On a personal note, I warmly welcome Zoe, who started here at the clinic this January.
As part of our commitment to your well-being, we regularly share blogs and articles to keep you updated with the latest research, techniques, and general advice. Your understanding and involvement in your treatment journey are important to us.
At the practice, we pride ourselves on offering professional, effective service with a smile. We aim to make you feel at ease, encourage you to ask questions, and involve you in your journey back to whatever you like doing.
I’m delighted that we are back running six face-to-face Pilates classes in local village halls and hope to start more as demand grows.
I continue to enjoy exploring the beautiful countryside in and around Goring, whether on foot, bike, or horseback.
I am excited to join Jo at Functional Physio and Pilates. I recently moved to Caversham with my family after 20 years of living in London and working in a central London private practice.
I really enjoy helping my patients understand their injuries and empowering them to work on strength and flexibility where possible to prevent recurrence. I have experience treating sports related and workplace injuries, and have also worked alongside sports teams and on film sets both in the UK and New Zealand.
As a mum of two, I understand the pre and post-partum pathway well and enjoy running both ante and post-natal exercise classes. I have just completed a course in women’s health, an area that I am excited to expand upon here at Functional Physio.
I am new to the area and really looking forward to enjoying the countryside, cycling, and paddleboarding on the Thames. I also love being by the sea, so I frequently try to get down to Devon for some sea air and surf!
I am a fan of great food and travelling/exploring new places, so please make sure you share all your favourite places to eat, drink and visit whilst on the treatment table!
I have over 20 years’ experience as a physiotherapist and team lead in the NHS and am really looking forward to joining the team at Functional Physio to branch out into private practice.
I am used to seeing a varied and sometimes complex caseload, encompassing all ages and a wide range of conditions. This includes post-operative rehabilitation, chronic conditions, and acute flare-ups. I enjoy helping patients build confidence and improve their quality of life through education, active treatment, and exercise. I like to work with them to develop practical strategies to improve their strength and mobility and to promote self-care and future prevention.
Over the years I have led spinal and lower limb rehabilitation classes and currently run a Pilates class. I have been fortunate to attend a wide range of clinical courses and development programmes throughout my career, which have allowed me to keep up to date with current practice and develop my own clinical interests. I also continue to enjoy supporting students and more junior members of staff through regular teaching, training, and supervision.
Life is busy with two young children, and we enjoy making the most of our time together with outdoor activities, days out and family holidays. When I get the chance, I enjoy Pilates, yoga, swimming and cycling. I love music, going to the theatre and baking!
You can also see that Catherine is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and The Health Professions Council. Registration details are: HCPC PH65440 | CSP 069842
For those of you who don’t know me I don’t tend to spend much time sitting. I really enjoy being as active as I can! A lot of my time is spent running both my children around and as they are getting older being a general taxi service!
When I am not busy with the children you will find me most probably in the weights area at the gym. Over the last few years it is something I have become really passionate about. I also really love hiking, and our latest trip to the Lake District was spectacular! 43 miles in 4 days was accomplished, with Striding Edge, Helvelyn, Scarfell Pike and Haystacks having being conquered.
I am very much looking forward to our next climbing adventures!
